Looking for someone you can trust?
Well of course you are. It’s what everyone looks for in a company; someone you can count on. There’s no shortage of schemers telling half truths and whole lies while claiming they can get your site ranked in all the big name search engines. With so many to wade through it’s hard to know which to choose. So how do you choose if you don’t know the first thing about SEO? Well allow me to clear the air for you by telling you a story about a trustworthy SEO specialist and his satisfied customer.
A company contacted me about setting up their PPC campaign. They told me of how they had hired an overseas company and how they didn’t feel they were getting their money’s worth. So I offered to take a look for them and right away I noticed that they had all their keywords in one ad group! It was obvious that the company they hired hadn’t done any keyword research what so ever and there were several keywords they had skipped over. This meant that their website was missing out on dozens of search opportunities due to this company’s lack of expertise. I also noted that their quality score was somewhere around 4 as a result of the words they were bidding on. Now I could have stopped there and gotten paid handsomely for a job half done, but I did no such thing. I delved deeper and ran across yet another problem with their site. The copy was clearly constructed by someone with a poor understanding of the English language. Their blog was merely patch work content for the bowels of the net and didn’t make the least bit of sense. That explains why the bounce rate on their site was at a staggering 98%, meaning they were constantly being rejected by visitors who upon seeing their site high tailed it to the competition. This was costing them an untold amount of sales opportunities. In addition to this travesty all their descriptions and keyword meta tags were the same, which is a big no-no in the SEO world. Many of the titles were repeats and the internal linking was completely nonexistent. The attempts at inbound links had anchor text that hadn’t a thing to do with the page they were linked to and they were using outdated techniques like keyword stuffing making their copy virtually unreadable.
There was absolutely no excuse for such behavior by a so-called SEO company and I hated to see anyone do business with such an unprofessional company. They had not extended any of the benefits that customers deserve and frankly the whole mess exuded the kind of unprofessionalism that should never be tolerated. So I decided to lend them services and I completely renovated their site. I resurrected their PPC campaign and treated them to the full Market Connection experience. I created an email newsletter for the site to improve marketing and outfitted them with analytics so they could monitor where their money was coming in from and shipping off to. My SEO campaign was geared toward getting their money flowing and their site ranked in the organic search. Through my efforts I managed to get them listed in the top three local search listings. It’s a work in progress of course, but we have tailored a campaign to fit their needs. They intend to go nationwide and I’ll be right there for them every step of the way as I do for all my clients. I believe you’ll be hearing a lot about this company in the near future.
