Imagine this, your customer is driving down the street and even though it’s illegal to use a phone while driving, he does anyway. But the driver is not making a call, he’s looking for your business. He needs the address so he can find you and since he’s driving he will probably just call and ask for directions.
So after doing the voice search on Google, your website comes up. The problem is that is won’t help so he hits the back button and enters the search again. But when your website shows up, it looks the same as on a PC. I was too hard to find the address or phone number fast so he hits the back button you just lost a customer.
What should have happened is when he found your site, the home page “should have” contained a button that said tap to call. That way he could have simply hit the button with his thumb and the call would have been connected. The same with a tap to text or tap to email button. Those should have been on the home page. The rest of the site can be found in the menu but all the information is in a format made for a hand held device. That way you never have to pinch open the site to hunt around.
